List of unexpected consequences

In our days, many of us spend hours online and these days – its not just about finding information – it’s also about engaging in conversations and exploring the randomness of the great internet which is also known as world wide web. Our hours of browsing and engaging in conversations also comes with some unexpected consequences – some good and some bad. Here’s my list of some of those consequences:
  1. I thought that online information at my finger tips would save me a trip to the library, yet all it has done was give everybody an opinion about everything…an opinion that may not be qualified on the topic.
  2. Social networks have now become more corporate networks as businesses try.
  3. Nothing says freedom of speech like those funny comics taking the knock at politicians when they “put their foot in it”. One wrong word or movement and we will be there within seconds to laugh about it.
  4. Withdrawal symptoms when not being able to Google, msn messenger, use Twitter, Facebook or any other online application from your computer or mobile phone. Or when you message a friend online instead of going into the next office to chat. Much of this withdrawal was experienced during the “load shedding”. When these symptoms happen, you know that you have crossed over to the dark side of internet addiction.
  5. The joys of online banking!!! – Yaaaaaay! Transacting by a couple clicks here and there has changed paying bills which could take all day to just a few minutes… love it!
  6. 7. Getting e-mails and sms’s from friends and family members is a good thing because that’s where you can differentiate who loves you the most.
  7. Everyday I normal receiving calls from Faieza de Sousa who was my colleague at CANSA Association of South Africa; she reads my blogs and post a comment.
  8.  Sending a message to a wrong person.
  9. Accepting your girlfriend’s mother on mixit.
  10. Foreigners use online advertisements to rob a person which is the bad things because they can find another ways to make money.
