Technology

Technology has made lives easier and quicker but on the other hand it’s dangerous. Taking in consideration some of the modern daily life inventions such as internet help us to get information faster and it also allow us to be connected with friends and family, for instance there are social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and mixit where you can open an account and make new friends. I like to watch TV because it allow us to watch a number of different channels and I believe that it makes our lives easier and efficient, on the other hand, it also exposes some shocking truths and life experience.

A good example of life experience, my sister told me to watch 3rd Degree when a lady known as Nana Ntombela was sharing her story on eTV. Nana was not able to stand in 2009. Her one leg is a metre and a half in circumference, and her condition confuses her neighbours in this the small village in KZN. They call her the elephant woman. She told us that she is unable to go to the toilet, not able to make herself food or even put on underwear. 3rd Degree speaks to experts who explain that her condition could be elephantiasis, but until Nana gets help, she lives on in pain and uncertainty.

People spend a lot of time using internet and what I have noticed is that all we care about is checking our emails and text messages without the true emotional bond and relationship with each other. Technology can also create financial problems in families because most technologies are very expensive to buy. Take the example of a television. In the past, there was a simple TV and this kind of TV had two dials, a volume control and a channel changer.
